South Seas Tuna is a family-owned and operated tuna fishing enterprise, proudly established in 2009 by Paul and Graciella Lavalle. As a third-generation fishing family, the Lavalles have always had a deep connection to the sea, and their passion for sustainable fishing practices drives the heart of the business.

With over 30 years of experience in the fishing industry, Paul Lavalle has dedicated his life to mastering the craft, from his humble beginnings as a deckhand to his eventual role as a Master. His journey began with the purchase of their first vessel, South Seas 1, which marked the beginning of a legacy that continues to thrive today.

As the business grew, so did their fleet. With the addition of their second vessel, Markarna, South Seas Tuna expanded its reach, ensuring the delivery of the highest-quality tuna to customers across the east coast of Australia.

In 2025, South Seas Tuna expanded further with the addition of a third vessel, Esbjorn—meaning "bear of God." This vessel is set to make her debut this year, joining the other two vessels and completing the fleet... for now.
